The D146 Donut Corp of America Thrilling Moments card set is a set of (72) cards cut from donut box packaging from 1937. There were four different donut boxes that comprised the complete set--each having (18) cards to make the total (72). The cards picture famous people without specifically identifying them but identifying their thrilling moments which led the collector to figure out the specific subject. The cards in the set include such luminaries as: Boxer John L Sullivan, football player Red Grange, Alexander Hamilton, Babe Ruth, the Wright Brothers and many, many more. Of course, the sports figures are the most widely collected cards in the set and typically command a strong premium to the other cards. The set has a companion oversized album meant to house the cards measuring 10-1/4" by 15".
This lot of (3) D146 Donut Corp of America Thrilling Moments to include the following subjects: Edward Ellsberg, Earl Sand and Leland Stanford. All three cards fall into the VGEX to EX range and are cut appropriately from the box with clean backs and no creasing.
