The D143 Superman set is a (24) card set of colorful bread cards issued by at least (5) different bakeries. The bakeries issuing the card include Delorge's Bread, Manbeck's Bonnie Bread, Saylor's Bakery, Town Talk Bread and Wind's Butter Krust Bread. The set is extremely popular and also very scarce which sets up a perfect storm for typically high prices. The cards rarely show up and when they do, they're highly sought after. In addition, cards with tabs will always command a premium as many if not most were removed. The cards typically have the little "notch" on the left or right where they were inserted into the loaves of bread through some mechanical method.
This single D143 Saylor's Bread Superman card is of subject #14 Panama Canal Sabotage. The card is in EX condition with the tab intact and has the characteristic notch on the left side of the card that just barely goes into the field of the color image. The back of the card is clean with deep black print. This is a type card that is missing from many advanced collections and to find it with the tab in such good condition is a wonderful opportunity for an advanced collector.
