The 1962 Topps Mars Attacks set is one of, if not the most iconic sets of the 1960's and possibly the most famous alien/space set of all time. The set spawned a number of follow-up sets over the next nearly 40 years including the 1966 Spanish Language set of (53) cards. The Spanish Language set was destined for the Argentinian market. The set uses the same artwork as the Topps cards and includes a checklist as did the original. The titles on the fronts of the cards as well as the narrative on the backs of the cards were completely in Spanish.
This rarely seen complete set of Marte Ataca! cards are generally in Fair to VG condition with a couple better and a couple worse. The average cards are around a weak VG. The cards, like most other Spanish language cards, are rarely found in anything above VG and often found glued into albums. This set presents as an extremely even set with few major issues other than just moderate wear and the occasional crease on cards. Card #1 is a solid Good and the checklist is in Fair condition with heavy wear to the back especially and has been checked on the back. Cards from this set are rarely seen and hard to find in lots and even harder to find in complete set form. This set would make an excellent addition to any 1960's collection, foreign card collection or space and alien collection.
