Hopalong Cassidy was created in 1904 and between film, television and radio, Hopalong (Hoppy to his fans) became so popular he was everywhere. He was a marketing manager's best weapon. He was on the cover of magazines, bread, cereal and on most everything else. Topps sought to capitalize on this phenomenon right after the television show moved to the radio. Radio was still going strong in the 1950's and Hoppy occupied a top ten spot for years on the radio. William Boyd played Hoppy and earned millions for doing so. The images in the Topps Hopalong Cassidy set are of Boyd and his adventures on the television show.
This complete set of (8) Foils from the 1950 Topps Hopalong Cassidy set are generally in Poor to VG condition. A single card, "The Dead Don't Dream" has been graded PSA1 Poor.
