The 1949 Topps Flags and Soldiers set is a 100 card set of diminutive cards issued with Topps gum. The cards were placed between the wrapper gum and wrapper in tubs of Topps gum in 1949. The cards measure 1-7/16" Wide by 7/8" high. The cards are cloth on one side with flags of 100 countries printed on that side with a back side picturing a colorful representation of a soldier from the country represented on the front. The set is somewhat difficult to complete and the cards are rarely found in high grade due to fraying of the cloth on the backs and the size of the cards.
This lot of (19) cards from the 1949 Topps Flags and Soldiers series are in Good to VG condition with most being around GVG or slightly better. Great lot of these popular, small Topps cards from the earliest days of the famed company.
